$560,000 on the table for community grants


More than half a million dollars in community grants is about to be made available to the community as part of the 2018/2019 Brimbank Grants Program.

The annual program provides financial support to not-for-profit organisations and community groups to deliver projects and events to help make Brimbank stronger.

Mayor of Brimbank, Cr Margaret Giudice said the program has been designed to support the community to deliver activities that support and improve the community.

“We’ve been fortunate to be able to support many innovative, positive and engaging projects, programs and events over the years through our Grants Program.

“This year, we have $560,000 available to successful applicants under three grants programs which align with our Community Plan, Council Plan objectives and emerging community priorities.

“We’ve also integrated our annual Seniors Operational Grants and Festivals and Events Grants grant streams into the program to ensure the community knows about all of the grants Council has available.

“Now all the community has to do is get their applications in,” the Mayor said.

The 2018/2019 Brimbank Grants Program application streams include:

Community Grants

  • Community Strengthening Grants (up to $10,000)
  • Sport & Recreation Grants (up to $5,000)
  • Youth Grants (up to $5,000)
  • Establishment Grants (up to $2,000)

Festivals and Events Grants

  • Community Festivals & Events (up to $10,000)
  • Major Festivals & Events (up to $40,000)
  • Partnership Festivals & Events (up to $60,000)

Seniors Grants

  • Seniors Operational Grants (up to $600)

Applications open on Monday 21 May and close on Sunday 15 July 2018.

Grants will be allocated in accordance with the approved Grant Program Guidelines.

Council Contact Officers will be available to support potential applicants and a series of grant writing and information sessions will be held in June.
