Art mural installed to prevent graffiti

Summary

A mural was recently created at the rear of 340-342 Main Road West, St Albans to improve the presentation of this area.

The mural features illustrations and designs by local artist Sebastian Franz, and was produced as part of a grant to Council from the Victorian Government’s Graffiti Prevention Program, with support from the St Albans Business Group Association and landowners.

The mural is a visual welcome for visitors who approach St Albans Railway Station from West Esplanade and showcases some of the goods and services on offer in the St Albans Town Centre.

The aim of the mural was to beautify the rear of shops regularly targeted by graffiti vandals and raise community awareness about the importance of keeping St Albans clean and tidy.

Rubbish, graffiti and clutter harms consumer confidence, business profits, and the environment.
