Book it in! Bookings open for new Hard Waste Collection Service

Summary

Bookings have opened for Brimbank’s new At Call Hard Waste Collection Service, with collections available from 1 July 2019.

The new service allows residential properties in Brimbank to book one no charge hard waste collection service each financial year – at a time that suits them.

It replaces the city-wide blanket hard waste collection previously provided.

Mayor of Brimbank, Cr Lucinda Congreve said Council was happy to introduce this more flexible and convenient service to the community.

“Bookings have opened for the new At Call Hard Waste Collection Service - but there’s no need to rush.

“The beauty of this new service is that you get to choose when you want us to collect your hard waste.

“All residential properties are entitled to one no charge at call service each financial year – this means you have 12 months to make your booking.

“On top of this, additional user pays collections are available at a very affordable price.

“So there’s no need to scramble to get everything together – there’s plenty of time.

“And remember - think before you throw. Is it too good to throw away? Even if you don’t want it anymore, there are heaps of local charities looking for good quality items for people in need,” Cr Congreve said.

Households will be able to have up to four cubic metres of hard waste and two cubic metres of green waste collected as part of the At Call Hard Waste Collection Service.

Bookings can be made up to six months in advance.
