Yana Alana and Tha Paranas

Saturday 29 April, 7.30pm

Multi award-winning, powerhouse cabaret performer Yana Alana is coming to the Bowery Theatre at the St Albans Community Centre to perform her cabaret concert – Yana Alana Covered.

Described as a camp, bouffant, drag diva, Yana Alana is infamous for her bold and risqué performances.

Yana is joined by her all-female band, Tha Paranas, featuring Bec Matthews and Louise Goh. Together, they will perform original arrangements and interpretations of classic epic and kooky pop, rock and soul songs.

The concert includes songs made famous by Nina Simone, Tom Waits, Shirley Bassey, Laurie Anderson, Scout Niblet, Joy Division, Johnny Young and more.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity!

Brimbank’s New Community Spaces!

The Keilor Community Hub is now open! You can now access Council’s new Customer Service Centre, the new Keilor Library, neighbourhood house programs, art spaces, and community meeting rooms.

The new Keilor Library is more than double the size compared to the previous library site in Kennedy Street, and will provide access to a more contemporary library with improved facilities.

Council’s Keilor Customer Service Centre will once again open – with customer support staff available to respond to general enquiries and receive payments.

A range of Neighbourhood House programs will run at the Keilor Hub, beginning with pop-ups to provide a sample of popular programs held at other centres.

Meeting rooms on level one and the community program spaces are available for hire by contacting Brimbank City Council’s Leisure and Community Facilities Unit via email at or phone on 9249 4537.

The St Albans Community Centre (STACC) which also houses the exciting new Bowery Theatre is up and running with a range of shows, exhibitions, events and community spaces for hire.

The theatre is named after the late Leigh Bowery, a locally raised and educated artist who went on to be internationally recognised for his fashion and performance work during the 1980s and 90s.

Sunshine Maternal and Child Health Centre has recently moved to a new purposebuilt facility. The new site offers Maternal and Child Health Services including appointments to check the health and wellbeing of children and first time parent groups. The purposebuilt centre operates via appointments which you can book online or by phone.

For more information about any of these initiatives and locations, please visit or call 9249 4000.

Big Opportunity to Grow Your Business

Participants will learn how to implement positive change, optimise efficiencies and provide a platform for long-term, sustainable growth for their businesses.

The 20-hour program consists of three individual meetings conducted at the businesses premises, as well as two group workshops held at the Brimbank Community and Civic Centre in Sunshine.

Applications are now open and 10 Brimbank businesses will be selected to participate in the program, which starts early April.
