It’s that time of year again - time to register to be part of the Sons of the West 2018 Premiership Season in Brimbank.
Sons of the West is a no charge health program for men aged 18 and over living, working or recreating in the west.
The program aims to improve mental health and physical health through a series of workshops, presentations, events and experiences.
Come along to the registration night on Wednesday 7 March 2018 at 7pm at St Albans Community Centre (STACC) on Princess Street, St Albans.
The registration night is a perfect opportunity to see what the Sons of the West program is all about, meet past participants and hear about how the program has changed their lives.
The premiership season officially kicks off on Wednesday 14 March and will continue weekly until Wednesday 16 May 2018.
Sessions will be held at STACC and will include guest speakers and fitness sessions.

The information gathered at this workshop will be used to inform Council’s consideration about what supports are needed for people with disabilities, their families and carers. A light lunch will be provided at the end of the workshop.

The B-Heard Youth Support program is provided by Council at no charge for young people aged 12-25 years who live, work, study or socialise in Brimbank.
Short-term support is offered to assist young people with their emotions, relationships and connection to other services who can also help.
Young people have said that this has helped them with feeling happier and less stressed, building stronger relationships and increasing confidence.

We are calling for public contributions from anyone who would like to shape the future of public art in Brimbank.
Submissions close Monday 19 March. After this consultation period, we will prepare a draft Public Art Policy and Plan for community feedback.

Upgrade works to a section of Hampshire Road, Sunshine opposite the Brimbank Community and Civic Centre and the south side of Service Street to Dawson St have begun. The works are scheduled for completion mid-2018.
The improvements include additional seating, raised pedestrian crossings and improvements to lighting and pedestrian access.
Access to businesses will be as normal. There'll be some lane and overnight road closures. To ensure safety during construction, sections of footpath on the east side of Hampshire Road and along Service Street will be temporarily closed. There'll be signs to help you find your way around.
