Brimbank Council Employee Recognised in Scope’s Annual Awards

Summary

Scope congratulates Lisa Frost from Brimbank Council on winning the Scope Community See the Person Award at Scope’s Annual Awards that were presented on Wednesday 16th November.

Scope’s Annual Awards provide an opportunity to acknowledge the contribution Scope’s staff, customers and community have in the lives of people with a disability.

The "Scope Customer See the Person Award" is presented to an individual or team who demonstrates “see the person” within the Scope Approach.

Lisa was nominated in recognition of strongly advocating for people with a disability and helping to develop the Brimbank Disability Network Group.

She uses her strong sense of social justice to encourage people to advocate on behalf of themselves and communicate their needs. This has seen Scope customers as well as others in the municipality gain access to volunteering, employment, community programs, workshops and surveys to affect change within their own communities.

Lisa’s work in supporting individuals with a disability and their carers goes far beyond all expectations of a Metro Access Officer.

Her passion, drive and willingness to see every person as an individual and to advocate for them, or to support them and their families to self advocate is nothing short of inspirational.

Lisa strives to make a difference; she sees the person and their capacity, despite their disability. Whether she is assisting a community or individual, you can always rely on Lisa’s relentless dedication.

Scope congratulates Lisa on winning the 2016 Scope Community See the Person Award.
