Brimbank Libraries Celebrate Cultural Diversity

A spoken-word poet, authors, musicians and photographers will take centre stage at Brimbank Libraries during Cultural Diversity Week (12-21 March 2016).

Sudanese born spoken-word poet, hip-hop fanatic, MC and author, Abe Nouk, and Melbourne-based musician, writer and photographer, Ali MC will lead a music, stories and spoken word event at St Albans Library on Wednesday 16 March.

The work of local photographer, Mehak Sheikh will be on display when the Humans of Brimbank exhibition visits Sydenham Library.

The exhibition runs from 10 to 19 March and will be a visual celebration of diversity in the Brimbank community.

Other celebrations planned for the week include:

  • A performance by the Brimbank Multicultural Community Choir
  • International Food on the Internet session, and
  • Multicultural story times.


Cultural Diversity Week at Brimbank Libraries - 12-21 March 2016

Author Talk - Abe Nouk and Ali MC - A Music, Stories & Spoken word event, Wednesday 16 March, 6-7pm

  • Learn how to search for diverse foods from around the world. Use library iPads and Android tablets or bring your own.


Multicultural Storytimes
Join us for stories (and share yours too!), songs and a special craft activity from around the world. Morning tea provided.
