Building Brimbank – Have your say on major investment coming to the City
Brimbank Mayor Cr Lucinda Congreve is asking local residents, business, community groups, students and others to get involved in local consultation about major investment coming to Brimbank.
“Over the next 15 years we will see unprecedented investment in our City, and we want to make sure that the community experiences positive outcomes during and after construction.
“Tell us how you think Brimbank can benefit from projects like the Melbourne Airport Rail Link and new development around all of Sunshine, St Albans and other local suburbs.
“From a transport perspective, a new major regional transport hub will be built in Sunshine and three level crossings are being removed on the Ballarat Line and a number of station upgrades are also planned.
“Sunshine has been also been identified as a Priority Precinct and a National Employment and Innovation Cluster by the Victorian Government. This means more development in and around Sunshine and St Albans to create more jobs and more services.
“The Federal Government has also announced a North West City Deal that will include investment and development in Brimbank.
“With all this investment in our City, this is a once in a generation opportunity to drive positive outcomes and opportunities for the current and future community of Sunshine and Brimbank.
“Council recognises the importance of using these projects to generate new employment within Brimbank, to create a range of diverse housing options and develop vibrant and sustainable retail, cultural, recreation and entertainment areas for the community.
“We would like your feedback so we can share with government and private industry to help inform their projects and also use in our own future project planning.
“There are a range of ways that people can get involved. Reply paid postcards and hard copy surveys are available at Council outlets and you can also visit Building Brimbank for more information on other activities and to have a say.
“Help us to create a community vision that celebrates the aspects that make our city great while also leveraging every opportunity to make it even better, Cr Congreve said.
