Calling local charities to apply for Brimbank Community Fund grants
Local charities working with young people in Brimbank are encouraged to apply for funding of up to $5,000 through the 2018 Brimbank Community Fund grants program.
The Brimbank Community Fund is guided by an independent committee of voluntary local leaders supported by the Brimbank City Council and the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation (LMCF).
The Brimbank Community Fund is a secure, perpetual trust fund and only the interest earned is distributed as grants that support grassroots solutions for Brimbank’s most vulnerable residents.
This year’s grants focus is on the many young people in the community who are doing it tough, those that are finding it hard to stay at school, get jobs or to keep healthy.
By supporting projects that make a difference to our young people, the Brimbank Community Fund seeks to look after the long term future of the community.
The Brimbank Community Fund provides grants of up to $5,000 to initiatives that improve the lives of Brimbank’s young people through education, employment and well-being pathways.
Since the program’s inception three years ago, $33,000 has been dispersed to eight local charities towards providing equipment, material aid and the delivery of projects and programs.
This year there is $12,000 of funds to disperse via the grant round, and this will continue to increase as the fund continues to grow through contributions from local individuals, businesses and community groups.
Local charities can make even small grants go a long way and organisations working with young people in the Brimbank municipality with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) and Tax Concession Charity (TCC) status are invited to apply to the Brimbank Community Fund for consideration of a general grant to assist your organisation in its work for the community.
Applications must be lodged online by 5pm on Thursday 31 May 2018.
