Celebrating Daughters of the West

Summary

Almost fifty Brimbank women celebrated the culmination of 10 weeks of incredible commitment as they successfully completed the inaugural Daughters of the West program.

Brimbank Mayor, Cr Margaret Giudice, Club Champion for the Brimbank Daughters of the West, Lauren Spark AFLW Player and Western Bulldogs Community Foundation Ambassador for Daughters of the West.

Building on the success of the Sons of the West program, Council partnered with the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation to deliver the popular Daughters of the West program in Brimbank.

Brimbank Mayor Cr Margaret Giudice said Council is proud to have given women the support and tools they need to live better, eat better and lead a healthier lifestyle.

“As well as a focus on physical exercise for all abilities, the program is designed to promote overall health, mental wellbeing and a strong sense of belonging.

“Women living in the west are facing some of the toughest health challenges across the state.

“The Daughters of the West program is an opportunity to assist women to not only become fitter and healthier but also to feel more connected in their community.

“It is this inclusive spirit with a focus on physical, mental and emotional wellbeing that makes the Daughters of the West program in Brimbank so special.

“Council is proud to congratulate all the graduates completing the program and encourages women to continue their health and wellbeing learnings in the community,” said Cr Giudice.
