Celebrating National Youth Week in Brimbank

Summary

Brimbank City Council will kick off its National Youth Week celebrations with an event at the recently opened St Albans Community Centre (STACC) on Friday 31 March.

Hosted in partnership with City Mission and Western Bulldogs, the event will include:

  • An open mic program organised by the Brimbank Youth Events Committee;
  • Activities run by the Western Bulldogs, including inflatable sumo suits, inflatable twister, an adult jumping castle, and a soccer sports clinic;
  • A barbecue from 4pm;
  • The Police Citizens Youth Club (PCYC) Ute.

Brimbank Youth Services will also host the Get on Board Bus Tour for LGBTIQ young people.

The fully supervised tour will visit locations that celebrate LGBTIQ history and highlighting same-sex attracted, sex and/or gender diverse specific support services around Melbourne.

Other National Youth Week events include:

  • Beauty and Books at Deer Park Library - Young people are invited to learn basic skincare and makeup techniques. For 12-25 year olds.
  • Table Tennis Competition at Sydenham Neighbourhood House - Table tennis enthusiasts are invited to challenge each other over a friendly game of table tennis. There is a $50 voucher prize for the winner. Light refreshments provided. For 12-25 year olds.
  • Zorb Soccer at West Sunshine Community Centre - Simply pick a Zorb Suit, divide into teams and let the hilarious fun begin. Light refreshments provided. For 12-17 year olds.

    Touring locations in Melbourne CBD, Carlton, Fitzroy and Footscray.

This event is hosted in partnership by Brimbank City Council and Maribyrnong City Council and supported by the Victorian and Commonwealth Governments.
