Head lice are common in young children, especially at primary school. Head lice move between heads without discrimination.,Anyone can become infested – including adults.
If you think your child has got head lice from school, let the school know.
You can buy lotions and shampoos to treat head lice at some supermarkets and local pharmacies. Follow the directions on the bottle. Once the lice are treated, go through the hair with a fine tooth comb to remove any eggs. This minimises the chance of re-infestation.
