Clean up your neighbourhood by collecting and removing rubbish on Clean Up Australia Day, Sunday 5 March 2017.
In 2016 an estimated 526,268 volunteers removed 13,933 tonnes of rubbish at 6,333 sites across the country.
Let's make this year bigger and better! There are two ways you can take part.
You can find a site near you and register to join the clean up by visiting Clean Up Australia Day. Already, more than a dozen sites have been registered in Brimbank.
Alternatively, if you know of another site that needs love, attention, and a good clean, you can you can register your own clean-up site online before Tuesday 28 February.
If you choose to register your own site, Brimbank City Council can assist with site planning and rubbish removal. Contact Council’s Environment Department on 9249 4717 for more information.
There are also plenty of opportunities for local businesses and schools to get involved through Business Clean Up Day, on Tuesday 28 February, and Schools Clean Up Day, on Friday 3 March.
If you can’t commit to Clean Up Australia Day, but would like to be part of the litter solution "Beautiful Brimbank" run regular clean-ups throughout the year. Visit Friends of Kororoit Creek.
Brimbank City Council will provide a BBQ, at no charge for all participants at a clean-up site in Selwyn Park, next to 1 Selwyn Street, Albion, near the playground, from 12 noon.
