Council thanks Brimbank Community Fund Chair

The Brimbank Community Fund Advisory Committee Chair, Barry Harvey AM recently resigned after serving three years on the committee.

The Brimbank Community Fund is a charitable fund account of the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation which delivers direct benefits to the local community.

Established 10 years ago, the Brimbank Community Fund is guided by an advisory committee made up of dedicated community members.

Mayor of Brimbank, Cr Lucinda Congreve paid homage to Mr Harvey and thanked him for his contribution as Chair of the committee.

“On behalf of Brimbank City Council, I would like to thank Mr Harvey for his dedication and work on the committee and to wish him all the best for the future.

“The local community has benefitted enormously from the Brimbank Community Fund and its support of projects that really make a difference to our young people.

“Under Mr Harvey’s leadership, the awareness of the program and the funding dispersed to local charities has grown significantly.

“Mr Harvey’s fellow committee members have also expressed their gratitude and appreciation for his passionate leadership and expertise while serving as Chair on the committee,” said Cr Congreve.

The Brimbank Community Fund provides grants of up to $5,000 to initiatives to help improve the lives of Brimbank’s young people through education, employment and well-being pathways.

Over the last four years the fund has distributed around $45,000 to 11 local charities towards providing equipment, material aid and the delivery of projects and programs.
