Deer Park, your park is ready for play
The new playground at Davitt Drive Reserve is now complete and ready for Deer Park residents to visit, relax and connect with nature.
The new $450,000 playground at Davitt Drive Reserve is now complete and ready for Deer Park residents to visit, relax and connect with nature.
Brimbank Mayor Cr Lucinda Congreve said Council was thrilled to deliver this much needed park upgrade for the community to enjoy.
“Come along and celebrate the newly improved Davitt Drive Reserve at an official opening on Saturday 5 October at 11am-1pm, with a sausage sizzle, and lots of fun activities, all at no charge.
“The upgrades include a fun new playground with new equipment, BBQ facilities, drinking fountain, shelter and plenty of space for picnics.
“Take a stroll or bike ride down the Kororoit Creek shared user path, which is now safer and easier to access from Davitt Drive Reserve.
“The fenced off-leash dog park is still there, as well as the popular Kororoit Creek walking and running circuit, making this space great for our physical and mental health.
“We know that providing great parks and playgrounds has flow on health and wellbeing benefits for everyone. They’re becoming our backyards as children and families come outside to play, socialise and explore together.
“As the weather warms up, don’t miss out on making the most of this fantastic park,” said Cr Congreve.
This is part of Council’s ongoing commitment to the multi-award winning Creating Better Parks Policy and Plan. Since 2008, we’ve invested $32 million upgrading 105 parks across Brimbank.
