Family days are part of B-active@Pollard. Families are invited to pack a picnic rug and hat to take part in activities on Thursday 21 January at RT Pollard Gardens.
Parents are as delighted as their children when taking part in Mini Maestros and children’s activities at RT Pollard Gardens, Hampshire Road, Sunshine – all offered at no cost.
Sunshine resident, Laura Jell, said it gave her 13-month-old daughter, Edith a wonderful chance to meet other children and make music.
“Edith just loves music and rhythm,” Ms Jell said. “Mini Maestros is great for her development and she gets to play with the other kids – it’s bliss to see her engaging.”
Ms Jell said the activities in the park gave parents a chance to meet other parents and talk about their experiences.
“We moved to Sunshine a couple of months ago – being new can be isolating sometimes,” she said.
“The activities are not only about your child playing and dancing, it gives us an opportunity to meet some new people, know our community, and perhaps run into people again at other playgroups.”
The family days are part of the VicHealth funded project B-active@Pollard. Families are invited to pack a picnic rug and hat to take part in activities on Thursday 21 January at RT Pollard Gardens.
There will be a range of games available including fun races; and parents and children can test their bean bag throwing skills or kick some goals. There will also be gentle games such as hula hoops, croquet, ribbon sticks to create beautiful patterns and a parachute for group activities.
Storytime in the Park
Brimbank Libraries will be leading a storytime session with stimulating books, some songs and rhymes, while Mini Maestros will lead a music session full of movement, instruments, percussion and sounds.
