Family fun at new Sunshine Library

A Family Fun Day has been planned on Saturday 6 August to celebrate the opening of the new Sunshine Library.

A Family Fun Day has been planned to celebrate the opening of the new Sunshine Library.

On Saturday 6 August, visit the library for children’s activities, tours, performances, prizes every hour and much more.

There will be a magic show performance at 11.15am and roving performers, including a balloonist and face painter, from 12noon to 2pm.

Library tours will be held at 10.15am and 2.30pm.

The new Sunshine Library stretches over two floors and includes:

  • A double height reading room
  • Children’s zone with storytime amphitheatre
  • A toy library
  • Outdoor space
  • Free WiFi throughout
  • Study rooms and booths
  • 47 public computers, plus scanning and printing facilities
  • Dedicated children’s computers
  • Collections in English and 10 community languages
  • Video games area
  • It training rooms
  • Access to electronic resources through dedicated iPads and large screen computers
  • Library customer service on both levels
  • Community learning rooms

The Sunshine Library Family Fun Day will be held on Saturday 6 August 2016, 11am-2pm.

The new Sunshine Library is located at 301 Hampshire Road, Sunshine, within the Brimbank Community and Civic Centre.

The Library is open

  • Monday-Friday, 9.30am-8pm;
  • Saturday 10am-5pm;
  • Sunday 1-5pm.
