A football festival designed especially for women is coming to Keilor Park Recreation Reserve on Sunday 4 March 2018.
The Brimbank Female Football Festival (BFFF) is presented by Brimbank Council and Football Federation Victoria (FFV) with support from Victoria Police and Melbourne City FC.
Mayor of Brimbank, Cr Margaret Giudice said the BFFF will bring the World Game to women across Brimbank and the western region for one fun filled day.
“We’re very happy to partner with the FFV to bring this festival to the community with a focus on increasing participation by women in soccer and introducing the World Game to kids.
“The main event is the women’s 7-a-side tournament, but the festival has a strong focus on encouraging women to think about other ways they can participate in the sport, for example learning coaching and refereeing skills, or even being part of social programs like the Soccer Mums program,” the Mayor said.
Local soccer clubs and community members interested in fielding a team in the women’s 7-a-side tournament are being asked to register now (cost of $35 per team).
There will also be WNPL matches, Inflatables, player appearances and food trucks.
Brimbank Female Football Festival will be held from 9am to 6pm, Sunday 4 March 2018 at Keilor Park Recreation Reserve, Stadium Drive, Keilor Park (Synthetic Soccer Pitches).
