Get active this summer with In2Sport!
If your child is looking forward to getting active this summer, then now is the time to apply for Brimbank’s In2Sport program and join a local sporting club.
A priority application period for females, first time applicants and people with disability opens 20 August for a four-week period.
Applications for all other eligible applicants open on 17 September 2018.
Under the membership subsidy program, children aged between six and 18 years are eligible to apply for 75 per cent of the membership cost, or up to $200 financial assistance, to contribute to club fees, provided they live in Brimbank and their name is listed on a Health Care Card or Pension Concession Card.
Mayor of Brimbank, Cr Margaret Giudice said In2Sport is a fantastic community program that is helping young people across Brimbank join in local sports.
“Since the popular program was first introduced in 2013, we’ve provided more than 2000 subsidised sports club memberships to help more than 1300 kids get involved in local sports.
“Of these subsidised memberships, almost 900 have been for kids who had never played sport before.
“This is a great opportunity for young kids living in Brimbank to actively participate in sport and recreation, and I encourage any families with young children who meet the criteria to apply,” Cr Giudice said.
This round of the program will consider applications for participation in summer and year round sports. Any not-for-profit sports clubs in Brimbank are eligible to register for the In2Sport program.
The subsidy for successful applicants is passed on directly to the sports clubs through Brimbank City Council.
To apply, simply fill out an application and submit it along with a copy of your family’s health care or pension card.
