Get set for an ace time at the In2Tennis Family Day

Summary

Hampshire Square in Sunshine will be transformed into a tennis hub from 11am to 3pm on Friday 18 January for the In2Tennis Family Day, kicking off Brimbank’s 2019 In2Tennis program.

Promising to be a fantastic day out, there will be heaps of tennis-related fun including mini tennis, hit the target and a speed server, plus face painting, giveaways, and the chance to watch the Australian Open on the big screen.

Mayor of Brimbank, Cr Lucinda Congreve invited community members to come along to the Family Day to enjoy the free activities, and to take the opportunity to register for other In2Tennis events.

“Our community has really embraced In2Tennis since it first launched three years ago.

“The Family Day is a great way to enjoy some fun tennis activities and to learn more about what’s on offer during the 10-day event.

“It doesn’t matter if you’ve never picked up a tennis racquet before. In2Tennis is all about getting active, having fun, and introducing the sport of tennis to the community.

“It’s also a great opportunity to discover the many wonderful tennis clubs operating across Brimbank.

“We have more than 30 free activities planned, so there’s something to suit everyone, no matter your age or ability,” Cr Congreve said.

In2Tennis 2019 will run from Friday 18 January to Sunday 27 January 2019.

Registrations are now open for all programmed activities, including: Club Open Days; Hot Shots Tennis; Cardio Tennis; Mums & Bubs program; Adults/Older Adults program; Swing into Tennis (inclusive version of tennis presented by Scope); Blind Tennis (a program for people with varying levels of vision impairment. All abilities welcome); and free tennis court use.
