It's a stitch up! Sip ‘n’ Stitch delivers the goods

Sydenham Library’s Sip ‘n’ Stitch is a social craft group that meets in the library on the first and third Thursday of the month from 11.30am to 12.30pm.

With the encouragement of library staff, participants have been knitting toys, cardigans and beanies to be donated to Sunshine Hospital for premature babies, with a large number now ready to be sent and enjoyed by Brimbank’s youngest residents.

The group has also been knitting blankets to be donated to Arcare Overton Lea.

So far, the group has completed 10 blankets which will be personally delivered to residents by Sip ‘n’ Stitch participants, Karen and Carol, who are also registered Brimbank City Council volunteers.

Another project the group has also recently completed was knitting poppies for the 5000 poppies project for the ANZAC centenary.
