Join In2Active and let’s get exercising for free

Summary

Brimbank Council has partnered with Sport Australia to fund and deliver a 12-month physical activity program called In2Active.

In2Active provides free 45-minute group exercise classes including boxing, yoga, cross training and circuit training, in Sunshine and St Albans.

The first stage of the program will run from July to September 2019.

Brimbank Mayor Cr Lucinda Congreve said the In2Active program is making it easier for adults and young people to access and participate in physical activity.

“The program provides a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for community members to get fitter and healthier and feel more connected in their community.

“It’s a great opportunity to make a positive change in achieving and promoting good overall health and wellbeing.

“We really want to support adults and young people to have fun and get active. I encourage you to join a class for free, and kick-start your journey to leading a healthy lifestyle, no matter your fitness level,” said Cr Congreve.

In2Active is underpinned by Council’s Physical Activity Strategy 2018 that supports increased participation in physical activity and encourages a more active and healthier community.

In2Active is supported by Sport Australia.
