Join the Summer Reading Club adventure and win

Brimbank Libraries invites children and young people aged 5-16 to take part in this year’s Summer Reading Club over the summer school holidays.

The Summer Reading Club is Brimbank Libraries’ most popular program with 981 young people registering for the program last year.

The theme for this year’s event is ‘Adventure’, and children who participate will be encouraged to explore adventure fiction.

Choose your own adventures from Brimbank library shelves and enjoy stories of dodging danger, outwitting evil enemies, and journeying beyond your wildest imaginations.

Attend the exciting launch of Summer Reading Club
Come along to the official launch of the Summer Reading Club program at Deer Park Library on Monday 1 December at 4pm.

The official launch event will include a treasure hunt for children with the chance to win one of three prizes. All children who sign up at the event will receive a Summer Reading Club badge.

Summer Reading Club activities in 2015 include…

  • Fun adventure activities in January 2015, and
  • A finale event to celebrate the end of the Summer Reading Club on Monday 2 February at  Sydenham Library.

This annual national program encourages children to read over the summer holidays to maintain and improve literacy and reading skill, and is a great way to keep children’s reading skills active while having fun over the summer break.
