The highly anticipated Keilor Community Hub will open its doors on Monday 3 April 2017.
Mayor of Brimbank, Cr John Hedditch encouraged community members to visit the Hub to access Council’s new Customer Service Centre, the new Keilor Library, neighbourhood house programs, arts spaces and community meeting rooms.
“For some time now the Keilor community has been watching the transformation of the former Keilor municipal office building.
“We’re happy to say work is now complete and doors will open to the Keilor Community Hub on Monday 3 April.
“We are confident the community will be pleased with what’s been done with the space.
“The new Keilor Library is more than double the size compared to Kennedy Street, and will offer customers access to a more contemporary library with improved facilities.
“We are also pleased to re-open Council’s Keilor Customer Service Centre where customer support staff will once again be available to respond to general enquiries and receive payments.
“For the first time, residents will also have access to neighbourhood house programs in Keilor,” Cr Hedditch said.
Neighbourhood house programs will be managed through Sydenham Neighbourhood House, with pop-up programs to be initially offered to provide a sample of popular programs held at other centres.
Community feedback on the neighbourhood house pop-up programs will be used to inform programming for Terms 3 and 4.
The new Keilor Library will offer a collection of more than 12,000 items. New library features include:
Meeting rooms on level one and the community program spaces are available for hire by contacting Brimbank City Council’s Leisure and Community Facilities unit on 9249 4537 or via email at email@example.com.
Neighbourhood House program enquiries can be made at Sydenham Neighbourhood House on 9249 4224.
Come along to meet with Brimbank Councillors at a series of drop-in session at the Keilor Community Hub from 10am to 12noon Wednesdays during school terms (commencing 19 April 2017).
