Let’s ‘Be Active Brimbank’ – an initiative to inspire physical activity
Brimbank Council has made it easier for community members to find ways to be physically activity in Brimbank with the launch of the Be Active Brimbank guide and online search function.
Mayor of Brimbank, Cr Lucinda Congreve said the Be Active Brimbank initiative is all about bringing together all of the opportunities there are to be active in Brimbank and making them easier for people to find.
“Be Active Brimbank is an ongoing initiative with the ultimate aim of getting the community physically active.
“We’ve put together the Be Active Brimbank Physical Activity Guide and introduced a new search function on our website to help people find out how and where they can get moving in Brimbank.
“There are so many opportunities in the local area.
“Our city’s walking and cycling paths, parks, playgrounds and open spaces are fantastic and open 24/7.
“There are also a heap of affordable programs and activities run locally at various Council facilities where you can get moving and have fun in the process.
“We’ve also created the Be Active Brimbank heart symbol, so when you see it, you’ll know you’ve found a Council-supported program, service or event where you’ll feel welcomed no matter your fitness level, ability or cultural background,” Cr Congreve said.
The Be Active Brimbank Physical Activity Guide includes information about Council-run and supported programs and events, and places to visit to be physically active.
The Be Active online search function available at brimbank.vic.gov.au/BeActive allows you to search for an activity in your local area to suit your age group or ability.
Pick up a copy of the Be Active Physical Activity Guide at Council facilities, including customer service centres and neighbourhood houses.
