Neighbour Day 2016! Bring Your Neighbourhood Together
Let us help you get to know your neighbours. Apply for a Neighbour Day Grant for activities that will bring your neighbourhood community together on Neighbour Day, Sunday 27 March.
Neighbour Day is an annual event that aims to remove social isolation and get people looking out for one another. It brings together the people next door or across the street for a BBQ, a picnic lunch or a game of cricket.
Held on the last Sunday in March every year, it’s the perfect day for people to get to know their neighbours, welcome newcomers and encourage healthy, safe and well connected local areas.
More than 685 Brimbank residents connected in last year's Neighbour Day!
Up to $250 available Per Grant
Twenty grants of up to $250 are available if you want to organise a local activity that will bring people living near you together. Think creatively about how to connect with your neighbours!
Successful grant applications will show how an event will connect the people in your neighbourhood, encourage community participation, and detail what the money will be used for.
The grants can’t be used to purchase some items, such as alcohol.
A simple application process has been developed for the Neighbour Day grants to make it as easy as possible for people to apply.
An information sheet that explains the grant application process and provides examples and ideas for activities is available by contacting 9249 4899 or visit our Neighbour Day Grants page.
Applications for Neighbour Day grants close Friday 19 February. Apply now!
