Council is offering grants to residents wanting to get involved in Neighbour Day on Sunday 29 March.
Neighbour Day is an annual event that aims to remove social isolation and get people looking out for one another. It brings together the people next door or across the street for a BBQ, a picnic lunch or a game of cricket. Held on the last Sunday in March every year, it’s the perfect day for people to get to know their neighbours, welcome newcomers and encourage healthy, safe and well connected local areas.
Up to $250 available per grant
Twenty grants of up to $250 are available if you want to organise a local activity that will bring people living near you together. Think creatively about how to connect with your neighbours!
Successful grant applications will show how an event will connect the people in your neighbourhood, encourage community participation, and detail what the money will be used for.
The grants can’t be used to purchase some items, such as alcohol.
Applications for Neighbour Day grants close Friday 20 February. Apply now!
