The annual Brimbank Disability Expo is back – with a focus on helping people prepare for and understand the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
Brimbank Mayor Cr Margaret Giudice invited people who want to know more about the NDIS to come along to the Expo on Thursday 13 September.
“The annual Brimbank Disability Expo is a chance for local residents living with a disability, along with their carers, families and friends to come along and find out the latest information about services available to people with disabilities and their carers.
“With the NDIS coming to Brimbank from October, this year the Expo will feature a panel of expert NDIS speakers from the National Disability Insurance Agency, Association of Children with a Disability, Office for Disability Services Commissioner and Victorian Advocacy League for Individuals with Disability (VALiD),” Cr Giudice said.
The panel of speakers will be available to provide information from 6-7.30pm.The Expo will also feature:
“People with disabilities and their carers are an important and valued part of our community – and Brimbank Council is committed to making sure that people with disability have the same rights and opportunities to live, work and socialise as everyone.
“One of the ways we can achieve this is to make sure the right information is available to the right people – that’s what the Brimbank Disability Expo is all about,” Cr Giudice said.
