You can drop off approved items to our Resource Recovery Centre at no charge.

Items Accepted

  • Clothing, shoes, handbags and fashion accessories
  • All types of batteries
  • Fluorescent tubes (including CFLs)
  • Motor oil up to 20L per vehicle
  • Gas cylinders
  • Electronic waste like televisions, computers, hard drives, printers, faxes
  • Clean cardboard including oversized cardboard boxes and cardboard cartons (empty) 
  • Clean paper including office paper, newsprint, magazines and letter box mail
  • Paint tins

Items NOT accepted

  • Chemicals other than those listed
  • Cooking oil
  • Waste from businesses or commercial operations
  • Household waste 
  • Unclean cardboard and paper eg.: cardboard with food scraps, dirt or liquid 
  • Waxed cardboard
  • Wet paper or cardboard
  • Plastic
  • Polystyrene
  • Packaging materials 
  • Files or folders containing metal.

Paper and Cardboard

All cardboard and paper is taken to O F Resource Recovery in Laverton where it's sorted in to waste streams (e.g. cardboard, newsprint, assorted white paper and magazines) for processing in to reusable products.

Give a Bike Program

Do you have a second hand bike that's in good condition or easily repaired? Don't need it anymore? 

Donate it to our Give a Bike program!

Just drop it off at the Resource Recovery Centre. The amazing volunteers of the Inner West Community Bike Hub clean and repair the bikes and then give them to local people in need.

Landfills (Tips/ Dumps) near Brimbank

We do not own or manage any landfill facilities (tips/dumps) in Brimbank.

Hume and Wyndham Facilities

Hume City Council operates two landfill sites (tips) and Resource Recovery Centres (recycling centres)

Wyndham City Council operates one Refuse Disposal Facility at Wests Rd, Werribee (landfill, transfer station, green waste processing).

    Domestic green waste may be dropped off (charges apply).
  • Brooklyn Recycling & Waste Processing
    Construction and Demolition waste, Commercial and Industrial waste, cleanfill, tyres (shredded), waste oil, green waste, gas cylinders, batteries, metal, bricks, timber, mattresses and residential hard waste.
  • Bio Centre (Sunshine Groupe)
    Bio-Centre provides a fully integrated, environmentally conscious high volume waste management and recycling facility.
  • EcoGypsum 
    Provides an environmentally friendly solution for recycling plasterboard (can be 100% recycled into gypsum powder).
  • Ecodemolition 
    Offers a recycled outcome for all by-products from demolition and excavation works.
  • Foamex
    Free polystyrene drop off facility (household quantities). They accept the following items:

    • Packaging for small & large appliances (eg.big screen TV’s, dishwashers & oven packaging)
    • White polystyrene fruit & vegetable boxes (clean boxes only - all organic material & labels must be removed prior to recycling)
    • Uncontaminated (eg. mud and concrete free) polystyrene from building & construction sites
    • Bean bag beans.
