Black Powder Mill Open Day and Demonstration
The Friends of the Black Powder Mill will explain the milling process, and the work which was conducted on the site of the former Albion Explosives Factory. This facility was an integral part in defence production during and after World War 2.
It is a reminder of the thousands of men and women who worked in the munitions industry in Melbourne’s west and of the factories that have almost disappeared.
See the heritage-listed restored mill operating and enjoy refreshments with the Friends of the Black Powder Mill.
